I’ve always been drawn to the occult symbols and aesthetic of Tarot Cards. It’s been a goal of mine to illustrate a deck of my own. For this project, I illustrated the 22 cards from the Major Arcana.

I'm a huge fan of coffee and always wanted to brand a coffee shop, so I tasked myself to try it out. In this personal project I explored branding and identity for the fictitious company Bad Bean.
Mushrooms are an uncommon good-luck symbol. Finding a mushroom is considered to mean good fortune is at hand.
Lingzhi (灵芝) is the sacred fungus of immortality, instead of decaying like other fungus it becomes woody and has a much longer lifespan. For this reason, it’s become associated with longevity.
The eagle is a symbol for positive changes, golden opportunities, freedom, and courage. An eagle’s sight is said to symbolize seeing both the finite and infinite. The latin phrase “aurum fatum” translates to “gold fate”, which ties back to the eagles meaning.
